Veterinary Laparoscopy

Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical technique that allows us to operate on our patients with minimal tissue damage.

Laparoscopic surgery has become widely adopted in human medicine, with most surgeries now performed using this minimally invasive technique, and we are adapting this approach in veterinary medicine as well.

Thanks to specialised staff training and highly specialised equipment, our clinic performs laparoscopic surgery on our animals.

The advantages of this technique include: smaller intraoperative incisions, reduced postoperative pain, faster recovery for our animals, and lower infection risks due to the smaller incision. Additionally, this technique eliminates the need for an Elizabethan collar.

The most common laparoscopic surgeries performed on our animals, regardless of size, are: female spaying, removal of retained abdominal testicles in males, preventive gastropexy, exploratory laparoscopy, and biopsies.

Veterinary Endoscopy

Endoscopic examinations are particularly useful in diagnostics and can sometimes be a valid alternative to surgery (e.g., for the removal of foreign bodies or the collection of biopsy samples).

At our veterinary clinic, endoscopies can be performed on the respiratory system (rhinoscopy, laryngoscopy, tracheoscopy, bronchoscopy with rigid or flexible instruments); gastroscopy and colonoscopy for the gastrointestinal tract; and thoracoscopy and laparoscopy with rigid endoscopes.

Endoscopic investigations, except in emergency cases, are carried out by appointment from Monday to Thursday.

Veterinary Orthopaedics

An orthopaedic examination is recommended whenever there are mobility issues, such as lameness or limb pain, and can involve diagnostic tests like X-rays and joint fluid sampling.

For puppies, to prevent the consequences of severe conditions like hip or elbow dysplasia, preventive X-rays can be performed at an early age.

Dr Jacopo Delle Rose handles the official X-rays for breed dogs for dysplasia, with accreditation from the Celemasche reference centre.

Additionally, our surgical team manages orthopaedic trauma in all cases of hard tissue (fractures) and soft tissue (cruciate ligament rupture, etc.) injuries.
